This song is dedicated to the place where I live from my childhood,DURGAPUR and today I feel proud that I'm a Durgapurian.This place was originally founded by Dr Bidhan Chandra Ray and slowly this place turned into the DREAM CITY.Durgapur consists of lots of places to see,have fun and enjoy....one thing very special in this place that the people of Durgapur makes anyone like his/her own person very quickly and quiet easily.Thats why we people of Durgapur often call Durgapur that it's not a City but it's an Emotion to all of us,please do come and visit our City,Durgapur

According to the general folklore,Durgapur was named after Durgacharan Chattopadhyay.He was the descendant of Gopinath Chattopadhyay who had received the land of Durgapur from the maharaja of Burdwan in 1765.

Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy MRCP FRCS (1 July 1882 – 1 July 1962) was an Indian physician,educationist and statesman who served as Chief Minister of West Bengal from 1948 until his death in 1962.In India,the National Doctors' Day is celebrated in his memory every year on the 1st of July.He was awarded the Bharat Ratna,India's highest civilian honour in 1961.
