KUMARAKOM Kerala - Backwaters, Vembanad Lake, Taj Kumarakom Resort

My Kumarakom stay was literally 1 night and it ended up being a staycation of sorts. Had such a relaxed time at Taj Kumarakom Resort. There are various other resorts and hotels in Kumarakom however, I have stayed only here and I absolutely recommend this one.

In just about 1 day I got a good feel of Kumarakom. The village is surrounded by the Vembanad Lake and of course does have scenic backwaters. In fact I feel the boat ride here was one of my best ones in Kerala. You could also take a typical Kerala houseboat experience here and that will give you that Kerala backwaters feel. Much more stunning than Alleppey in my opinion.
You can also visit the Bird Sanctuary in Kumarakom. It was next door to the Taj, however I didn't spend too much time there since it was not the right season. i travelled in November'19.
