Exotek AS is a Norwegian based company making All terrain vehicles for people with mobility impairments! My name is Sigurd Groven, and I am one of The Co-founders of the company. I used to be a very active cyclist before my injury! I did both road racing and crosscountry. But the last couple of years before my injury I got more into enduro and downhill-mountainbiking. I am a physical therapist by trade and ran my own clinic and gym (also a CrossFit box) before my accident. I
have 5 beautiful kids and the most wonderful wife anyone can ask for! During a downhill run on my Endurobike back in the summer of 2015 I crashed into a tree and fractured my cervical spine. I sustained a complete C7/T1 spinal cord injury..My life changed forever in the blink of an eye, and also meant that I could no longer work as a physical therapist (I tried for a couple of years, but it was just too hard with my chronic nerve pain and no core muscles). They`ve been hard at times these last eight years, but I do really enjoy life now and I have a great support-network of family and friends (and also I feel like I have the best job in the world)! My kids, wife and extended family had a really hard time coping with my situation during
the first year. A spinal cord injury is life changing, and really tough for our loved ones too, but together we have created "a new normal" and I have so much to be grateful for! Two of my teenage sons are competetive cyclist and I follow them everywhere!

As long I have the right gear, I can (as both a dad and husbond) be included in most everything! We do in fact lead a very normal life (in spite of certain mobility impairments we always find a way)! During the summer months we travel all over Europe competing! As long as I have my Exoquad I can follow them around everywhere. The Exoquad is imperative for my quality of life! And not to forget; it means just as much to my family! I am very fortunate to have access to such an excellent mobility aid!

Ok, so a little background info about our company; Exotek AS, and our product; "The Exoquad"!

The Exoquad is a fully electric 4 WD vehicle made (first and foremost) for people with mobility impairments! The Exoquad provides a wonderful experience of autonomy and personal freedom! It is ideal for personal transport in any terrain and will work great on all surfaces year round! Our customers use it for hiking, hunting, fishing or to just play with their kids or do some gardening again! We offer a variety of add ons for transport, luggage, trailer etc. The Exoquad is extremely powerful with 350 newtons of torque, 6000 watts and up to 4200 mah of battery capacity (with dual packs) for unrivaled range and accessibility traits!

My partner and co-founder in the company Mattias Storvestre`s wife is also spinal cord injured so we sort of know what people need and want when investing in mobility aids! Mattias is the engineer and designer behind "The Exoquad". We couldn`t find anything in the current market that had extreme accessibility traits so we sought to
build our own solution in The Exoquad. After he made me a prototype in 2019 I was finally done with sitting at home while my family went hiking or camping etc! I follow them everywhere now, even on quite demanding trips to the mountains and stuff. Inclusion and personal freedom is our aim, and it is in truth it is kind of a "life before and
after" type situation!

"The Exoquad" truly solves a lot of painpoints in my life! A Spinal Cord Injury means loss not only of bodily functions, but also freedom of movement and the ability to get around and about in nature ! In that sense there is certainly one very important thing we can make better for our customers through our product; "The Exoquad" can and will provide autonomy, personal freedom and the ability to join in and reach those magical (but sometimes hard to get to) places we long for!

We are a still a small startup company. We are happy and proud to say the demand has been very high for our products domestically! We are building quads as fast as we can, but for 2023 we will focus on the Norwegian market mostly! Towards the end of this year we opt to start export abroad and scale up the business! We already have established our first dealr abroad in Belgium! XXX is a very exciting market and we are currently looking for new dealers! The Exoquad is a substantial investment, but it is premium quality (hand made in Norway with only top of the shelf components) made to last a lifetime!

The retail price for the basic motorized version (in Norwegian kroner) starts at NOK 239.000 the 2WD option retails for NOK 179.000.-. The ExoGravity retails for 109.000.-. We are also planning a new model that will become a lot more affordable. This will be a more speedy option too, and will be based on The ExoGravity frame with rear hub motors.
