Robert Burns and the Queensbury Arms Inn, Sanquhar

Описание к видео Robert Burns and the Queensbury Arms Inn, Sanquhar

A photographic survey of an old coaching inn. Closely linked with Robert Burns the poet this old inn stands on Sanquhar main street and is linked with a repeat of the famous Friars Carse drinking contest where a black whistle was the prize.

Burns was forced to leave here and seek food and board in New Cumnock on a freezing night due to the arrival of Mrs Oswald of Auchencruive's funeral procession - he wasn't best pleased.
