Thankfully, lynchings have come to a stop since this song was released. But the essence of this "hanging" effect is still in our world today, when it comes to race and discrimination. Racial profiling is everywhere. You might not realize it. But it is. And it has been, for quite some time now. It's that awkward topic that no one really wants to discuss or debate about.
