I got this fan in a NOS (New Old Stock) condition from an electronic store when I was looking for some random fans there, and when the owner brought me to their storage area, there were some new old stock fans, and one of them is this fan!

I grabbed it because I never heard of an Orbit brand before (also mainly because I have quite less interest in portable fans, I am mostly focused on ceiling fans). According to some info I acquired, Orbit was a sub-brand of Cosmos back then, and I have no idea their popularity isn't too great as I never found any of them in person for my whole life.

I doubt the box that came with this fan is original to it. There is a "GREEN" word on the box, that indicates the color of the fan inside, meanwhile, the fan inside the box is in WHITE. It could have been swapped with the other Orbit fans back then, considering it has been sitting in storage for many years. Also, I have no idea why the fan's shaft is not in the center position with the grille. It also has a little bit of damage on the grille's ring, and I believe that is caused by the "storage rash". About the performance itself, the airflow it generates isn't surprising at all. Very decent. But on the other side, it has a quite satisfying 1990s fan-typical rattling sound!

If you need a small fan for your daily needs, this fan may be not suitable for that due to the decent airflow. But if you want a unique classic fan for your fan collection, this fan is one of the best choices! But unfortunately, this fan doesn't last long in my fan collection. I've sold it because I get bored with it in such a very short time 🥴.
