11foot8 Canopener bridge 3d Scanned, Measured, and Animated

Описание к видео 11foot8 Canopener bridge 3d Scanned, Measured, and Animated

This video shows how I 3d scanned the infamous 11foot8 bridge in Durham, NC (bridge is now 12 Foot 4). I scanned it with a Faro X130 3d scanner at 1/5 resolution, 3x quality and with color. After processing the scans in FARO SCENE I then put it through a custom process that meshes the entire scene written in python using the pymeshlab and pandas libraries. In Rhino 3d I measured the clearances of the crash beam, bridge and warning sensor to see how conservative 12 foot 4 actually is. Finally, I put together a quick animation in Blender to reconstruct a hypothetical accident and to show how the scene works for an overheight vehicle.

The scene is available on Gumroad for $10 - this does not include the truck, but does include the empties the wheels and body were parented to.
