In this short, I share why I believe it's crucial that we see realistic characters in video games. Whether they’re male, female, trans, or non-binary, especially in family-friendly titles.

I reflect on the conversation around Aloy from Horizon: Zero Dawn, and how her design sparked debate simply for including natural features like facial hair, something real women experience. Representation like this matters.

I also touch on the double standard in character design: while people call for more realistic female characters, male characters are often hyper-muscular, creating harmful expectations and contributing to body dysmorphia, especially in young male gamers.

This isn’t about banning sexy characters, it’s about balance, realism, and letting everyone feel seen in the games we love.
