Smoothing a Field with a Box Blade

The last go around happens today in the fern field. If you've seen my other videos you know that I started off with an overgrown field of wild ferns and have since knocked them down and tore them out with my box blade and root rake. Today I'm continuing the job with the hopes of this being the last time I have to deal with those pesky ferns. I've got my 2012 Kioti DK40se HST, HLA 66" Root Rake and 78" MK Martin box blade on the job today as I attempt to smooth out the soil that got dug up pretty good while digging out roots using my root rake in previous episodes. With some basic setup, the box blade does a beautiful job at getting the grade of the soil back where it should be with the high spots knocked down and the low spots filled in. Come along today as I do a bit of axe swinging too trying to take out the only remaining tree stump in the field. The tractor wasn't quite up to this job so I got back to basics with an axe and went to it. In no time I"ll have some nice grass growing here and hopefully will never see a fern pop up through this soil again. But let's be honest, the fern fight isn't likely over but for not at least I'm going to call it a win for me. Thanks for watching folks!
