Chennai, September 15 (ANI): Former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan shares journey of development of ISRO’s first liquid-fueled, Vikas engine and said that, “During those time, we were working only on solids, which was mainly Kalam’s work, but I wanted to work on liquid, but there was no oxidizer, no fuel, no metal to withstand that temperature etc. So, funding was not there because you don’t know what the hell you want to do. Chairman ISRO was interested but you don’t get the budget that easily, unlike today. I could not stop the blast despite of knowing it, because there was no two-way communication. That is how the Vikas Engine’s development started, we worked towards that. Now, it has been very successful today, not even a single failure.”
