Ubisoft Faces Financial Reckoning as Star Wars Outlaws Falls Flat | WTF Podcast Clips

Star Wars Outlaws has released and sales are pretty dire. The game will make money no mistake, but after only selling a little more than half of what Ubisoft needed (they needed 8 million but got just over 5 million), Ubisoft has been forced to slash their 3rd Quarter bookings by around 30% (from 750 million down to around 500 million, 200 million less than desired). Now with AC Shadows on the horizon that will likely suffer the same fate and Ubisoft's stock tanking to the point where some investors are calling for the company to delist from the EU stock market and undergo massive restructuring and studio closures, the game journos and devs no longer have the financial luxury to moralize at gamers who aren't buying what they're selling.
