Today I will be discussing the $900 Billion proposed stimulus bill. The bill is currently in Congress and waiting on approval. I believe that this bill will pass for multiple reasons.

1.) There is bipartisan support for this bill, meaning that both Republicans and Democrats support this bill. Additionally, President Trump has voiced his support as well.

2.) The Government must be funded so it makes sense to merge this funding with the relief.

3.) The latest job report was weak, showing signs of the economy slowing down.

4.) I personally do not see lawmakers going home for the holidays without passing some sort of aid, as we are in the worst of the pandemic. In addition to that, many of the aid benefits are expiring soon.

Why is this stimulus bill important? Well, it provides a safety net for the economy. The vaccine is set to roll out at the beginning of 2021. So while that is being distributed, this stimulus is acting as a safety to the economy.

Right now, the two political parties are agreeing on certain aspects of the bill like unemployment, help for businesses, and money for the vaccine. However, there are disagreements on liability protection and state and local funding. What will happen with this bill is still being determined.
