In this video I discuss my own feelings about mobility aids and my journey through using different mobility aids from occasionally using a walking stick to then using it all the time to then my physio moving me onto using crutches to then discussing with one of my consultants if a wheelchair would benefit me.

I share my own thoughts about “pretty” mobility aids and accessorising mobility aids and how this has helped me to feel more able to start and use the mobility aids I’ve had and have. I also suggest that getting a “pretty” mobility aid or accessorising one may help others as they begin to use mobility aids.

It’s always helpful, if possible to speak with an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist (Physical Therapist) about mobility as there’s a wide variety out there and they can help advise you on what is the best type of mobility aid for you as well as having it fit you correctly too as some incorrectly fitted mobility aids can cause problems.
