Basavaraj Bommai, the chief minister of Karnataka, and Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, have once again engaged in verbal combat after Bommai asserted that villages in Maharashtra's Sangli district passed a resolution requesting to merge with Karnataka after experiencing a severe water crisis. In response to the CM's assertion, Fadnavis claimed that no hamlet near the border had passed such a resolution and that none is "going anywhere." A massive protest was witnessed at the Bangaluru-Pune Highway where the mob demonstrated their outrage against the Maharashtra CM Eknath Sinde and alleged that the CM promoted Anti-Karnataka Outrage. The protest was conducted after some people of Maharashtra painted the karnataka-owned buses with slogans such as ‘“Jai Maharastra”.
