Saterday (Jun 3rd 2023) I traveled to Utrecht to film Utrecht canal pride. Canal pride is a unique way for celebrating gay pride in the Netherlands. This year Utrecht canal pride was much much better than last year, I really enjoyed it. I visited many happy people who were enjoying their time there. The Utrecht Canal Pride is a festive LGBT event that has been held in the city of Utrecht since 2017 . It takes place annually in June and includes a boat parade on the Oudegracht , followed by several street parties in Utrecht's city centre.
Pride Amsterdam is a multi-day event with a gay cultural character. It has been held annually since 1996 around the first weekend of August in the city center of Amsterdam .

The highlight is the Canal Parade , a colorful procession of boats that sails through the canals on the first Saturday in August.
Hundreds of thousands of visitors attend this event every year, making it one of the most visited public events in the Netherlands. [2] The Canal Parade is also broadcast live on NPO 1 , so that people who cannot stand along the quay in Amsterdam can also see it. The reliability of the (continuously increasing) visitor numbers has been under discussion for several years. [3] In the United States, the Amsterdam Gay Pride was voted the best Gay Pride celebration in Europe in 2008 and in 2018 the Amsterdam Pride was voted the Best Public Event in the Netherlands. [4] [5] Since 2019, Pride Amsterdam has been included in the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Netherlands Inventory . [6] [7]

The official name of the event was initially Amsterdam Pride , then from 2007 to 2016 Amsterdam Gay Pride , from 2017 to 2022 Pride Amsterdam [8] and in 2023 the name was changed to Queer & Pride Amsterdam . That year, Queer & Pride Amsterdam was a thirteen-day event, spread over a consecutive period of fifteen days, focusing on the rights of LGBTIQ+ people, with special attention being paid to marginalized groups within the LGBTIQ+ community, such as the stigma surrounding AIDS and the rights of intersex people in 2023.
