Woodturning - The Monkey Puzzle

In this woodworking video I use a woodturning lathe to turn an air dried large piece of monkey puzzle into a 16 inch pedestal platter.

when woodturning a piece like i find it important to nibble away at it until I see what shape the wood wants to be, this is what is so enjoyable about woodturning. big log to bowl, but i find removing the wood in layers allows me to find the best possible shape.
