FAST Autobahn acceleration test with the latest 2014/2015 Renault Megane RS "Trophy" delivering 275 hp and 360 Nm of torque through the front wheels and a conventional 6-speed manual transmission (weight: 1.380 kg). This particular car features the same engine and exhaust system as the mighty Tophy-R which laped the Nürburgring Nordschleife as one of the fastest FWD cars. The major thing that distinguishes these two cars is the missing rear seats and air-con of the Trophy-R, wheighing 100 kg less than this particular car. But anyhow, acceleration was done in "RS-mode" which allows more wheels-spin off the line. A bit too much in my opinion, as I tried multiple rev levels with a similar result. Performance wise this car goes quite decent up to 180 km/h, after that it starts loosing ground compared to a Cupra or Astra OPC.
