NEW SHIFT SOUND &
VIBRATION DAMPENING
HYBRID HUB SYSTEM

MORE QUIET MORE ENJOYABLE

Introducing a new propeller hub kit system, MasterTorq Sound Dampening Hub [SDH]. MasterTorq™ (patent pending) 800 Series SDH™ Sound Dampening Hub utilizes
next generation hybrid hub technology from Turning Point Propellers by
blending the best attributes of both traditional pressed-in hubs and newer
drop-in hub technology. Dealers and boaters now have access to an all-inone
hub that includes shift shock and vibration dampening characteristics of
a pressed-in hub along with the ease of use, replaceability, and reliability of
drop-in designs. It has been engineered to not let loose and spin over time under
normal use, contrary to what is commonly experienced with pressed-in hub
propellers. Other competitive designs that claim shift and vibration dampening
are less likely to break away, consequently turning into a solid hub once they
exceed their maximum flex point, which increases the chances of lower unit
damage under an impact situation that offers less protection to the lower unit.
MasterTorq SDH has been designed to break away like Turning Point Propeller’s
industry leading MasterGuard  series of hubs.

MasterTorq™ SDH™ Sound Dampening Hub’s hybrid technology uses staggered
horizontal stabilizer ribs that form micro flex points between the newly formulated
rubber cushion and the marine grade brass spindle that dampens shift shock and vibration.

Cushioning is further improved with a new prop nut spacer that has been engineered
with Hub Isolation Technology that works in conjunction with the new spindle to reduce
friction points between the hub and prop housing resulting in a quieter more enjoyable
experience for the boater.

Industry leader Turning Point Propellers, creator of the first prop and drop-in hub system, is
once again elevating propeller hub technology with its state-of-the-art hybrid technology - a
less complicated more cost-effective solution over competitive designs.

SOLVING LOWER UNIT PROBLEMS: Absorbing technology of the Sound Dampening Hub –
SDH™ resolves an issue inherent in some outboard applications where noise at engine idle
is transmitted throughout the lower unit caused by slack in the shift dog clutch assembly.
Noise is most commonly occurring with Yamaha  and some Mercury  on 4.25” (40-150HP)
and 4.75” (150 to 300+HP) gearcase applications. MasterTorq SDH Sound Dampening
Hub is intended for use with stainless steel propellers only but works with aluminum
propellers too (Shift Dog noise is rarely an issue when using aluminum propellers).
