Geologists estimate that this pyramid was built around 20,000 years ago, during a time when Java was not an island, but part of a subcontinent known as Sundaland. This raises questions about the advanced civilization that could have possibly existed at that time and the possibility of extraterrestrial visitors.

According to researchers, the flood that separated Java from Sundaland occurred around 10,000 BC, which adds another layer of intrigue to this already mysterious site. While conventional scholars dismiss the idea of an advanced civilization at this time as mere mythology, ancient astronaut theorists believe otherwise.

They propose that Gunung Padang was built by extraterrestrial visitors who possessed advanced technology and were mistaken for gods by the locals. This theory is further supported by the lack of evidence showing a gradual progression of technology before the construction of this massive pyramid.

But Gunung Padang is not the only site in Southeast Asia that points towards the existence of a lost continent called Mu. Other locations such as Yonaguni in Japan also show signs of advanced architecture that could have been built by a civilization on Mu before it disappeared.

Some even speculate that the flood that submerged Mu and turned it into a series of islands was caused by a cataclysmic event, possibly a meteor impact. And this event could have been what brought the extraterrestrial visitors to Earth in the first place.

The idea of ancient astronauts visiting Earth is not a new concept. In fact, there is evidence of advanced technologies and unexplainable feats found in various cultures and civilizations around the world. And for many, Gunung Padang and other sites in Southeast Asia are just another piece of the puzzle that supports the theory of extraterrestrial contact.
