LYRICS:
--------------------
Right beneath the fur, I'm told,
Are the folded wings of heathen love
That attract and tie.
And deep within the fur has grown
A Raven Heart, that echoes grace
On the oils of life.
And with every beat, you are dreampt then drawn
To disquiet heights, and northern lights, like a promise,
That's tearing you from, from the high you're on.
Yet, still you find a branch to climb,
In a town that's home, but neither yours, nor mine -
This life could get no stranger...
-
But, the darkest days are lit by eyes wide open,
And the warmest quilts are laced with threads of blue,
For these stormy eyes can see right through,
The rain in, your Raven Heart.
-
On the day I fell, you felt in place,
As in, placed in reach, but never mine to taste -
We were good at being loved.
So, we set fire to grapevines adorned,
Searching for the branch that made it seem like home,
For these roots, they grew uneasy...
-
But, the darkest days are met with eyes wide open,
And the warmest quilts are laced with threads of blue,
For these stormy eyes can see right through,
The rain in, your Raven Heart.
-
And, with a rib bone strong, we had shaped a place,
Trading leaves for wisdom, and grass for lace,
And procured a crown to sit upon.
For in the velvet fresco, grew a note,
And donning trimmer figures, under heathen coats,
We learned the words to sing along...
-
Because the darkest notes are played with eyes wide open,
And the ending's left a ringing in my ears,
And from time to time, I'll pull the sweater's thread until we clear,
The rain in, your Raven Heart...
