EC – ENCUMBRANCE Certificate
Encumbrance Certificate is required for those purchasing a property and for those applying for a loan against property. EC contains all the transactions registered with the Registration Department, relating to a particular property for a certain period. So, EC helps a person ascertain the commercial transactions that happened to a property over a long period of time, as per Government record.

In case you want to apply for an encumbrance certificate offline, you can use Form 22 to make the application.

Here I explained step by step to download EC certificate online.

Step 1: Visit the official website
Click below link.
https://tnreginet.gov.in/portal

Step 2: Once opened the webpage , tap on the ‘e-services’ tab on the home page ,

select encumbrance certificate – select view EC.

Step 3: You will be directed to the page , in this page just enter your document details such as zone,
district,
sub-registrar office,
EC start and end date,
survey details such as village,
survey number and
subdivision number.

Step 4: Enter the captcha to confirm and search for your EC.

Step 5: You can also choose ‘document-wise’ option on the home screen. Here You will be asked for details such as sub-register office, document number, year and document type. After that entering the captcha.
