Transport phenomena remains nowadays still the most challenging unsolved problem in computational physics, though the high-performance computing has been applied. As future technology, quantum computing opens a grand new perspective for numerical simulations of transport phenomena. Taking computational fluid dynamics as a concrete application, the possible quantum algorithms and software are reviewed. The recent work of our research group using Lattice-Boltzmann Method (LBM) with quantum simulator software to solve the advection-diffusion equation will be presented namely how an algorithm on classical computer could be translated and implemented on a quantum computer.
