Borderlands 2: Legendary Pitchfork - Does it suck!?

The Pitchfork is the legendary Dahl sniper. It is most commonly drop from Terramorphous, the raid boss from the vanilla game. Because Terra has a large, varied loot pool, it is one of the rarer legendary weapons in the game.

The Pitchfork has a strange spread where it shoots five pellets in a horizontal line that get closer together over a distance. It consumes two ammo per shot. Being a Dahl weapon, it does burst fire when aimed down sights. It has a burst size of five with all Dahl parts.

The Pitchfork can be pretty powerful, but is very ammo hungry. Because it consumes so much ammo relative to total sniper ammo possible, it can be difficult to use effectively. However, it is powerful if you're able to manage it.

It's hard to say that this weapon "sucks", as it would be great if ammo were not an issue. However, I might say that it does suck with ammo in mind. It is such a big deal that it really changes the way you have to play rather drastically with the weapon.

It's obviously broken with the Bee shield, but there are better options among snipers if you're going that route.
