Surfers ride the first 5-star Severn Bore of the year in the Gloucestershire village of Minsterworth this morning (March 22).

The Severn Bore natural phenomena is a large surge wave that can be seen in the estuary of the River Severn, where the tidal range is the second-highest in the world.

Surfers and kayakers gather each year to get the chance to ride on these unusual wave patterns caused by a rise in the tide.
