An Insider's View of Space Exploration featuring Apollo Astronaut Capt. Alan Bean

Описание к видео An Insider's View of Space Exploration featuring Apollo Astronaut Capt. Alan Bean

Former astronaut Alan Bean--the fourth man to walk on the moon--tells what it was like to walk on the moon (and the number-one discovery that made a big difference in his life), and what he foresees for the future of the space program. Bean began a career as an artist more than 20 years ago and now paints moonscapes of his and his fellow astronauts' adventures, which are interspersed throughout the lecture. The presentation, the 2010 Harcourt C. "Ace" Vernon Memorial Lecture, was sponsored by the Mt. Cuba Astronomical Observatory and UD's Delaware Asteroseismic Research Center. Vernon (1907-1978) was one of the founders and the first chairman of the board of trustees of Mt. Cuba Observatory in Greenville, Del.
