In this video, I dive deep into the costs associated with running a heat pump during the early winter months of October and November 2024. We'll be comparing our energy bills from same period last year in 2023 to identify any potential savings.

Additionally, we'll provide a detailed analysis of the costs involved in running two electric cars and the COP numbers for our heat pump. This comparison will cover expenses with and without the heat pump, offering a comprehensive look at our energy consumption.

Installed by Octopus Energy in April 2024, our heat pump operates under the Octopus Intelligent tariff. This tariff allows us to charge at a cheaper rate between 11:30 PM and 5:30 AM. During this period, the heat pump heats our water, and we also charge our two electric cars, resulting in more affordable energy bills.
