Pick me, choose me, marry me, PLEASE!!!

The pick me girl of today is the angry, miserable aunty of tomorrow. In this video I talk about the pick me, and how her entire world revolves around male validation and the male gaze. Furthermore, I talk about the "black cat, golden retriever" dynamic as seen on TikTok, and how the pick me is destined to be a golden retriever in her relationships. I also touch upon the concept of a "shut up ring" where a man provides a pick me with an engagement ring, but has absolutely no intention of marrying her. Finally, I go into the importance of recognizing and dismantling the internalized misogyny that exists within us women, so that we can decenter men and avoid the otherwise inevitable pick me to bitter, misogynistic aunty pipeline.
