Making Our Own Shop Crane

Today we tackle the build of a much needed shop tool. As you know we have a ton (weight and amount) of projects in the works and many of them are at the point of removing bodies/engines.

So in comes our gantry crane. This is a nice rolling lift that will assist in moving heavy things around the shop. We used a 1800 lb capacity electric hoist that we purchased on Amazon, but the frame and trolley are built to move up to a 4000 lb hoist in the future if need be. Moving the new tools, engines, tubs will be much easier from here on out. My back is very thankful for this.
