P. Mthunzi-Kufa - You too can be a woman in STEM.

To date, several incorrect gender stereotypes and biases remain in the field of STEM. Some factors influencing this could include lack of education, ignorance, close mindedness, socioeconomic division, and a range of other social and political challenges. In this this talk, I will share my journey as a woman in STEM and show the audience that with necessary support anyone can thrive in the field of STEM. The talk will also cover my current research, where different biophotonics techniques, artificial intelligence and machine learning models are used to expedite point-of-care diagnostic apparatus for different pathogens, non-communicable diseases, substandard drugs and towards application in food safety as well as security.
