I love making these hoops because no two ever turn out the same. Even though I usually like things perfectly mirrored, the little randomness in each piece brings me just as much joy.

Start by cutting your favorite colors into small pieces and mixing them together. I like to chop them again after mixing to get an even more blended, playful look.

Press all the pieces together into a log, flatten slightly, and cut into four pieces—these will become your hoops.

Roll one piece to about 1 cm thick and twist it for that swirl effect. Twist in opposite directions for mirrored hoops.

Using simple depth guides—like pencils—and an acrylic roller, roll the clay to your desired thickness.

I shape my hoops around a round object and place them on a ceramic tile; if you want perfectly round hoops, try not to move them.

I bake the hoops fully formed and trim any excess afterward. Finally, add your earring posts however you like, and your one-of-a-kind swirl hoops are ready to shine!
