The Ravager of the Celts: Æthelfrith

Victory in battle was key to being a warlord after the fall of Rome. In the 7th century the British faced a warlord like no other Æthelfrith - nicknamed 'The Flexer'. This Anglo-Saxon warlord was a horrifying prospect for the Britons as his unending ambition was paired with constant victories! It could be argued that without Æthelfrith Northern England may have remained 'Celtic'. I am looking forward to sharing his violent story with you!
