Australia's Visa Fail: Labour’s Broken Promises on 482 & Skills in Demand Visas

You might not know this, but Australia’s Labour government just missed another major migration deadline. In the 2024/25 budget, they promised to reduce the work requirement for 482 and Skills in Demand visas from two years to one. The change was supposed to kick in on November 23, 2024, but guess what? No new visas, no updated Core Skills list, and the two-year work requirement is still in place.
