Sodium-ion Batteries Reach 458 Wh/kg: New Breakthrough

Описание к видео Sodium-ion Batteries Reach 458 Wh/kg: New Breakthrough

An international team of scientists including the University of Houston has developed a new type of sodium ion batteries with an energy density of 458 watt-hours per kilogram. Lithium-ion batteries are currently the dominant technology due to their high energy density. Sodium-ion (Na) batteries have the potential to replace Li-ion bateries. The Na-ion battery has an economic and environmental advantage. At low temperatures, it performs better than a Li-ion battery. In this video, we'll explore the properties and applications of the Na-ion batteries.
