Susan Jacks was a regular performer on Music Hop (Let's Go) from the age of 15, soon to be 16. In the spring of 1966, she and Terry met for the first time when he appeared as a guest on Music Hop for the filming of a tribute to the British invasion. Susan was 17 and Terry was 22. That fall, Susan would happen to ask Terry to accompany her on rhythm guitar for an engagement she had. The Poppy Family would evolve over the next few months when Craig McCaw joined them on lead guitar, later introducing Satwant Singh to complete their signature sound.
