Josh Hawley, and before I ask you to consider the vision I want to share, I need to tell you exactly who I am and why I care so deeply about the working families of this country. I grew up far from the elite spaces that dominate so much of Washington today. I wasn’t raised in privilege, wealth, or political dynasties. I grew up around communities where people worked hard, where faith and family mattered, where people didn’t expect handouts but expected fairness, dignity, stability, and opportunity. And over the years, especially during my time in public service, I have watched how these voices — the voices I grew up with — have been left behind, ignored, dismissed, or even mocked by institutions that were supposed to serve them.

So if I am here today, it’s not to perform politics or to deliver polished soundbites. I’m here because working-class America has been carrying this country on its shoulders, yet receives the smallest share of its rewards. This is why my first priority, my Part 1, is entirely dedicated to the people who wake up early, work long hours, pay their taxes, raise their kids, and still find themselves struggling at the end of the month: the American men and women who keep this nation running.

When I talk about a Family Economy, I’m talking about a national commitment — not a slogan — to rethink the way our entire system works. Our current economy rewards speculation, corporate consolidation, and offshore profits far more than it rewards a father or mother working in a warehouse, a factory, a construction site, a farm, or a small business. This isn’t an accident. It is the result of decades of decisions made by leaders and corporations who believed America could outsource its jobs, outsource its manufacturing, outsource its supply chains, and still maintain its strength. They were wrong. Working people paid the price. Families paid the price. And our national unity paid the price.
