In the winding Dessarin River Valley your party begins to make camp. You’ve been tasked with a job to help with a bandit problem going on in the small town of Promise deep in the Dessarin Hills. Your party was traveling on the long road between Waterdeep and Red Larch before you were forced off of the trail by high numbers of displacer beasts. Displacer Beasts are a rare site to see along the Sword Coast so their presence is particularly alarming. Your party opted to follow the Dessarin River instead as to avoid the majority of the beasts stalking the road. The river valley provides some cover from the elements and the river’s waters provide plenty of fish to eat and a place to cool off after a long trek. Just as the party begins to get comfortable a familiar, haunting noise echoes through the valley and at once your party is at their feet with weapons drawn.
