Yamaha has hiked the price of the BS6 FZS-FI V3 for 2021. Its starting price is Rs 1,08,200, Rs 1,000 more than its predecessor. The 2021 FZS FI V3.0 was updated with smartphone connectivity that came as standard across all the colour variants. It debuted in the FZ-S FI Dark Knight back in October 2020.

The bike is available in five colours: Matte Red (new for 2021), Dark Matte Blue, Matte Black, Dark Knight, and Vintage Edition.

The FZS FI now features Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X Bluetooth connectivity as standard whereas customers can opt for it at a premium of with the base FZ range. along with ride telemetry such as average speed, battery voltage, and distance. Other notable features include disc brakes at both ends with single-channel ABS, a negative LCD instrument cluster, and a single piece two-level seat. The FZS FI gets a lower engine fairing to reduce mud and dirt splatter. The negative LCD instrument cluster is equipped with an ECO indicator to enable more fuel-efficient riding.

The new FZS-FI comes with a fuel-injected 149 cc engine with a compression ratio of 9.6:1 delivering a maximum 12.4 PS power at 7,250 rpm and 13.6 Nm torque at 5,500 rpm. It is linked to a 5-speed transmission.

Underpinnings of the Yamaha FZS FI consist of a telescopic front fork with 282mm disc brake with ABS and 220mm rear disc brake. The bike comes with 100mm front and 140mm rear radial tyres that enhance grip on all road conditions.

The Yamaha FZS FI goes up against the likes of the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V BS6, Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Hero Xtreme 160R and the Suzuki Gixxer. In the same price range, one can also opt for the Bajaj Pulsar 150 twin disc variant and the Aprilia SR 160.

Yamaha FZ S FI is a street bikes available at a starting price in Bangladesh. It is available in 6 variants and 7 colours with top variant price starting from. The FZ S FI is powered by 149cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 12.2 bhp and a torque of 13.6 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, Yamaha FZ S FI comes up with anti-locking braking system. This FZ S FI bike weighs 137 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 13 liters.

Yamaha Motor has added a few updates to its FZS FI model for 2021. The latest iteration of the 150cc roadster is two kilograms lighter than the 2020 model, and it tips the weighing scale at 135kg as against 137kg of its predecessor.

The 2021 FZS FI also benefits from the new Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X Bluetooth technology that offers access to functions such as answer back, e-lock, locate my bike, hazard, etc. Styling updates include a new 3D emblem. The FZS FI will be sold in five colour options – matte red (new), dark matte blue, matte black, dark knight, and vintage edition.

The changes, however, are limited to the updates mentioned above. The feature list continues to comprise a single-channel ABS, an LED headlight, chrome highlights, a 140mm wide rear radial tyre, and a two-level single-piece saddle. The safety net has been further enhanced with the addition of a side-stand engine cutoff function.

Mechanical specifications continue to include a BS6-compliant 149 cc, fuel-injected engine that makes 12.2bhp and 13.6Nm. The hardware comprises telescopic forks at the front, preload-adjustable rear mono-shock, and disc brakes on both wheels.

The FZS FI competes against the likes of the Honda X-Blade, Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Suzuki Gixxer, and the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.

The 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected motor remains unchanged. It makes 13.2PS of power at 8000rpm and 12.8Nm of torque at 6000rpm, mated to a 5-speed transmission. However, Yamaha says the engine is now tuned for better low-end performance. The same goes for the bike's underpinnings. The FZS-Fi retains its telescopic fork and monoshock setup. Anchoring the bike is a 282mm disc up front and a 220mm disc at the rear. Tyre dimensions remain unchanged as well - a 100/80-section type up front and a 140/60-section tyre at the rear.

In terms of features, the FZS-Fi comes with single-channel ABS as standard and chunky tyres. The bikes negative LCD instrument console displays information like fuel gauge, odometer, two trip metres, F trip and a clock amongst others. There’s also an ECO indicator which guides riders with throttle modulation to help extract more fuel-efficiency from the engine.
