An in-depth discussion of the ongoing experiments in trying to design deeper and deeper integration in raising our chickens on active compost piles and fertility building AND being able to grow food crops for ourselves in the same spaces. In our limited land base, the area the chickens occupy represents very valuable potential growing space. We want to be sure the chickens have an excellent quality of life, as well, so this work is about figuring out the intersection of those goals and refining it more and more as the system teaches us what works and what doesn't.
