The primary market is buzzing with action this week as 10 companies will open their initial public offerings for subscription, including two on the mainboard.

These include companies like Allied Blenders and Distillers, Vraj Iron and Steel, Shivalic Power Control, Sylvan Plyboard, and Mason Infratech among others

Beyond these new public offerings, the market will also see 11 fresh listings.

Here's what you need to know about the two companies set to open for subscription.

Let's start with Allied Blenders and Distillers which makes popular Indian whisky Officer's Choice.

The Rs 1500-crore IPO of Allied Blenders will open for subscription on June 25 and close on June 27.

The price for the offer has been set at 267-281 rupees per share.

It consists of a fresh issue of 3.56 crore shares, raising 1,000 crore rupees, and an offer for sale of 1.78 crore shares, totalling 500 crore rupees.

A fresh issue involves the company issuing new shares to raise capital for various purposes, such as expansion or debt repayment. An offer for sale, on the other hand, allows existing shareholders to sell their shares, enabling them to partially or fully exit their investment.

Founded in 2008, Allied Blenders and Distillers is an Indian liquor company known for its wide range of products, including whisky, brandy, rum, and vodka. They also market packaged drinking water under brands like Officer's Choice, Officer's Choice Blue, and Sterling Reserve.

Officer's Choice Whisky, launched in 1988, marked the company's entry into the mass premium whisky segment and quickly became one of the world's top-selling whisky brands by annual sales volumes between 2016 and 2019.
Another mainboard IPO that will hit the D-Street this week is Vraj Iron and Steel

The Rs 171-crore IPO of Vraj Iron will open for subscription on June 26 and close on June 28.

The price for the offer has been set at 195-207 rupees per share. Its a complete fresh issue, meaning all the proceeds will go to the company and not the existing shareholders.

Vraj Iron and Steel Limited specializes in manufacturing Sponge Iron, M.S. Billets, and TMT bars sold under their brand Vraj.

Operating from expansive facilities in Raipur and Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, spanning 52.93 acres, the company boasts a total installed capacity of 231,600 tons per year as of March 31, 2023, encompassing both intermediate and final products. Now let's get to the question you all have been waiting for -- which one should you subscribe

According to experts, both offers look attractive.

Experts suggest that Allied Blenders, with its diversified portfolio spanning various price points, is likely to allocate the proceeds towards debt reduction, potentially bolstering profit margins. They recommend considering a medium to long-term investment horizon for the issue.

Another expert favours Vraj over Allied, citing its products' industrial utility, favourable market cycle, and attractive valuation, which could potentially result in strong listing gains.
