Описание к видео Till The Docklands Drown - Contemporary Folk music from Ireland by Kern

Kern is a contemporary Irish folk group from Ireland. See www.kernmusic.com

Produced by Donal O'Connor and with a lovely video by Brian Connolly at Bang Bang Visual, this is Kern's first new music since the album last year. The song is also performed by Tara Lee in Darren and Colin Thornton's IFTA-Winning Element Pictures movie A Date For Mad Mary.

Kern weave together various influences of Irish folk music and songs prompted by their diverse formative experiences in traditional Irish Music, singer song writing, Pop, Rock, Indie folk music, modern Irish Folk music and their sensibilities. Their modern Irish folk music is a distillation of reflective and skilfully- executed traditional elements including a deep respect for native song lines from Irish and English Folk music combined with fresh and often raw contemporary and modern perspectives. Mining the fertile depths of the vernacular riches of their land, with the distinctive Irish Uilleann Pipes, traditional Irish Fiddle playing and acclaimed singer songwriting Kern Ireland present thrilling interpretations of the traditional music of the past and blistering, sometimes heart-wrenching lyrics in their new contemporary and modern Irish folk style of music.

Kern’s first album False Deceiver met with universal critical acclaim upon its release in 2016 and earned the band extensive press and radio coverage. As a result Kern clocked up the miles on Ireland’s highways and byways and played shows in Germany, Canada and the US, including at Milwaukee Irish Fest and Folk Alliance International in Montréal.

The band also won the 2018 Temple Bar TradFest showcase.

The Left and the Leaving is a blend of original songs and tunes written by the band members themselves alongside traditional Irish Songs and music from Ireland. The tracks were once again produced by Trevor Hutchinson and feature the Lúnasa/Waterboys man on double bass throughout. There are also appearances by Dónal O’Connor (Ulaid, At First Light) and Eamonn Moloney.
