The UAE and Germany continue to strengthen their comprehensive partnership, with non-oil trade soaring in 2023. In 2023, non-oil exports between the two nations surged from $350 million in 2022 to $408.3 million, marking significant growth. Imports also saw a notable increase, rising from $8.51 billion in 2022 to $10.98 billion in 2023.
The total non-oil trade volume reached $12.75 billion in 2023, compared to $9.81 billion in 2022. Additionally, re-exports witnessed a substantial rise, reaching $1.36 billion in 2023, up from $949 million in 2022.
With the volume of non-oil bilateral trade expected to hit €12 billion, representing a 30% increase since 2022, both countries are poised for further economic cooperation and mutual prosperity.
Moreover, the UAE and Germany's diplomatic relations, established on May 17, 1972, have flourished over the years. The signing of the Strategic Partnership in 2004 paved the way for an advanced comprehensive strategic partnership in 2019, solidifying their commitment to collaboration and shared goals.
To facilitate connectivity, there are now 110 weekly direct flights between the UAE and Germany as of January 2024, enhancing travel and fostering stronger people-to-people ties.
Increased trade and improved diplomatic and transport connections show a growing relationship between the UAE and Germany, benefiting both countries' future sustainability.
