I take a look at the Nikon AF-S 35mm f/1.8G lens. This lens is priced at $599.99 USD and is a nice alternative to the more expensive Nikon AF-S f/1.4G. At a cost of $899.99 USD I find the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 to be a better lens exceeding the performance of not only the Nikon 35mm f/1.8 but the more expensive f/1.4 variant also.
