Khardung La is a mountain pass in Ladakh, India. Per many, it's the highest motorable road in the world - but there are also a lot of people who have contested this title. But this video is not about whether or not Khardung La is the highest road accessible by civilians. It's about my first experience of riding to the top of this fabled mountain pass in the Himalayas.

When I reached Leh in May 2016 (during my 3 month long ride across India) and we were ready to start the ride to Khardung La, my expectations were very high. But, my experience of riding a Royal Enfield bike to Khardung La turned out to be very different from anything I could have imagined. Memorable for sure, but not in the way I'd expected.
