This is the third incident of assault on a doctor from Maharashtra this week.
Just two days back, there was a massive protest by doctors against such attacks.
The resident doctors have told the hospital management to take strong action against the attackers.
They are upset as the incident took place in the presence of the hospital security guards.
The doctors have said that they are scared to work in such circumstances.
Last week, a doctor at the Dhule government hospital was so brutally beaten up that the attack might have permanently damaged his left eye.
