I have a job to do on my Colchester Student Lathe that requires a drilled hole to be held to very tight tolerances. Older style Colchester lathes have rounded castings which make it difficult to mount an indicator on the top of the tailstock casting. Also, I don't own any indicators with travel greater than 25mm. Mounting a cheap digital caliper to the tailstock quill and casting is not new but it's especially challenging to do on a Colchester. This is my solution to the problem.
