Der Ehrhardt Straßenpanzerwagen wurde von der Modellbaugemeinde seit der Ankündigung bereits sehnsüchtig erwartet, allerdings kam es bei Copper State Models zu einigen Verzögerungen. Kurz vor Ende des Jahres 2022 war es soweit und das Modell kam auf den Markt. Natürlich habe ich gleich zugeschlagen, versteht sich von selbst! Das Fahrzeug reizt mich schon lange und Copper State Models hat bereits in der Vergangenheit einige sehr schöne Panzerwagen aus der Zeit des Ersten Weltkrieges veröffentlicht, was mein Interesse noch erhöhte.

Wie immer bei CSM gefällt mir die stabile Verpackung und auch die Bauanleitung sehr gut, welche durch ihre Übersichtlichkeit und das tolle Layout besticht. Auch die Bauteile sind rundherum hervorragend gefertigt und zeigen sich auf höchstem Niveau. Manche Kleinteile sind derart filigran und scharf detailiert, dass der Kunststoff schon fast an seine Grenzen stößt. Auch die Oberflächen sind sehr gelungen, vor allem natürlich die auffälligen Nietreihen rund um die Panzerung. Man vermisst allerdings einen Motor und auch der Innenraum ist sehr spartanisch eingerichtet, das hat man bei CSM in der Vergangenheit besser hinbekommen. Dafür bietet der Abziehbilderbogen 14(!) Markierungsvarianten, das ist eine Menge Holz!

So schön der Bausatz auch ist, der Preis ist leider zu hoch für das Gebotene: Zwischen 50 und 60€ sind fällig, dabei sind nicht einmal Photoätzteile oder sonstige Aufwertungen beinhaltet. Das finde ich zu teuer, 30 oder vielleicht noch 40€ wären fair. Das trübt den Eindruck leider ein bisschen. Ob euch der Bausatz das Geld wert ist, müsst ihr selbst entscheiden.

The scale modelling community has been yearning for the Ehrhardt armored car since it was announced for the first time, but Copper State Models had to deal with a few delays unfortunately. But just before the end of the year 2022 the kit hit the market. Of course i grabbed one immediately, this was out of the question! I am interested in this vehicle for quite a while already and Copper State Models already released a nice selection of armored cars from the WW1 era in the past, which only increased my interest.

As always i like the very solid boxing of CSM and the instructions, which impressed me by their clarity and layout. The kit parts are also very well made all around and of the highest quality. Some small parts are that filigree and sharp that it sometimes looks like the plastic material is at its limits. The surface detail is also good, especially the striking rivets all around the armored hull. However, one misses an engine and the interior in general is very Spartan, CSM did a better job in that field in the past. In exchange we get a decal sheet with the markings for 14(!) options, thats a lot of stuff!

As nice as the kit is, as expensive is the kit and probably even overpriced actually: It costs between 50 and 60€, there are no photo-etched parts or other goodies included. That is too expensive for what we get in my opinion, 30 or maybe even 40€ would be fair. That leaves a bit of a dent in my rating. Whether you are okay with the price tag or not is up to you.
