Cannabis are known for its medicinal properties and is also used to perform religious rituals in India. However growing this plant is in India. But it made available in few cities in the form of Bhang which is drink prepared by blending cannabis. Bhang is typically an Indian drink. Consuming limited quantity of marijuana is clense sins and unite soul with God and also avoid hell afterlife but excessive consumption is considered sinful. Apart from this Cannabis are used for medicinal properties, it helps in sadhana and meditation practice by enabling yogis to forget sorrows of life and enter into a state of trance. In extreme cold climatic conditions marijuana helps in calming the nerves. Thus lord Shiva has been invoked on many occasions be it any occasion or a war or for spiritual advancements by offering this holy herb. For the mighty Shiva who was able to consume Halahal (the most potient poison obtaind along with Amritha) consuming such a herb is a little consequence but Misuse of this herb by mortals to get away from their duties and responsibilities is considered incorrect.
