F4 GP Wahoo 540 foil at 29kts GS020458

Today I got 1 solid gust and "Send IT" off the breeze at 29.3 kts for 100m 29.75 on the watch for 2s and 29.4 on head mounted Mini-Motion high accuracy GPS.

Botany Bay, NSW, AUS. Good times with a few friends, Justin and Roger came out for a slalom session on small foils… 550 and a 450. Sails 9 and 7.5 all had different strengths. I was on F4 GP 540 210XL and then changed to 170M tail wing for this run. My FMX 91 (old faithful, 2!) was just right, and the CHS 7.1 was a lot too small most of the time except for a couple of speed runs!

F4 are such well-behaved foils, surviving a partial breach with no air sucking or cavitation despite poking out! I knew I was getting close to 1m altitude as my face shows!

So close to 30kts... in my defence the harness lines were too short. On the prior run I got the lead tangled and shortened the lines and forgot to set them long again... then as I accelerated so damn much I didn't get a chance to lengthen them before I was at speed!
