Sneak Peek at the Foundation Plants for My Melbourne Garden - Reverse Homesteading

Take a peek at the interesting plants which will be the start of my new garden in Melbourne, Australia. Hubby and I are waiting the last couple of weeks or so, until we have the keys to our little unit in the 'burbs!


ABOUT US...

Welcome to Reverse Homesteading! We are about to move into our unit in the Temperate Gardening Zone of Melbourne. We were previously ‪@rockytropixgardening‬ in the Far North of Australia!

Melbourne is in the Hardiness Zone 10b, which considers how tough your plants need to be in Winter... Melbourne has dry, hot Summers and is officially "a Mediterranean Climate". Our area also has 4-5 frosts, each Winter.


OUR HISTORY...

In June 2020, my husband and I felt called to a rural area in Far North Queensland... It was at the other end of Australia to where we were, in Melbourne, Victoria.

Exactly three years later - to the day! We felt we were to move back to Melbourne.

All of the above starts this new journey on Reverse Homesteading, from country with lots of space, back to a small garden in a city of 5.2 million people!

See the start of our next garden-making journey in late January 2025... When we move into our small home in the suburbs!
