Imposter syndrome is a behavioural health phenomenon described as self-doubt of intellect, skills, or accomplishments among high-achieving individuals. While experiencing the phenomenon can feel isolating, it is thought around a third of young people suffer from it.

This session explored what imposter syndrome is, how it can manifest itself for those who are early in their careers, the impact it has on the working lives of young professionals, and gave advice for how to overcome it.

Chaired by PwC's Nicole Fernandes, we heard from occupational psychologist and author Nikita Mikhailov, who provided the academic, expert perspective of what imposter syndrome actually is.

Award winning wellbeing leader, Nuz Chagan, explored the concept that imposter syndrome can happen to individuals at any stage in their career, even when they are established and respected in their industry.
